What Is a Podcast Membership?
Ever come across your favorite podcast and noticed that some episodes have a little lock icon on the play button?
If you have, that means the podcast has launched a Membership program, and those locked episodes are exclusive content just for members. But don’t worry—you can unlock and listen to them!
By subscribing to your favorite creator, you not only support their work but also get access to special features and exclusive episodes, depending on the membership tier you choose.
How Do I Subscribe?
Without further ado, here’s your step-by-step guide to joining a podcast membership:
- Open Your Favorite Podcast Streaming Platform
Currently, podcast memberships are supported on Spotify and the Firstory Streaming page. Open Spotify, find your favorite podcast, and click the lock icon on any locked episode. A pop-up will appear—just click “Get Access.”
- Connect Your Spotify Account with Firstory
Once you click “Get Access,” you’ll see a pop-up asking you to connect your Spotify account with Firstory. If you don’t have a Firstory account yet, you can quickly sign up instantly with your Google Account.
- Choose Your Membership Tier
After logging in to Firstory and connecting your Spotify account, you’ll be able to choose the membership tier that’s right for you.
- Complete Your Payment
Next, you’ll be directed to the Stripe payment interface. If you have Link by Stripe, you can use instant checkout. Otherwise, you can pay with any debit or credit card that supports international online transactions. Stripe accepts all major cards, including Visa, JCB, Credit Union, MasterCard, Amex, and more. (Unfortunately, if you're indonesian, GPN cards aren’t supported yet.)
If your payment doesn’t go through, check your banking app settings and make sure international online transactions are enabled.
- Congratulations - Your Membership Is Now Active!
You can now enjoy all the exclusive content your favorite podcaster uploads. As long as your membership is active, you’ll have full access to every benefit.
