Whether you are a creator or a listener, you may experience issues receiving verification emails if you use a Hotmail or Outlook address. These providers' servers often block Firstory’s automated system emails, preventing the registration process from completing.

Affected Domains:

  • hotmail.com

  • outlook.com

Solution: We highly recommend using Gmail or another reliable email provider to ensure you receive your verification link and important account notifications.

FAQ

  • I already signed up with Hotmail/Outlook but didn't get the email. What should I do?

    1. First, check your "Spam" or "Junk" folder.

    2. If it's not there, we suggest updating your email:

      • Creators: Go to "Account Information > Basic Info" to update your Email.

      • Listeners: Go to your "Account Information" page to change your Email.

    3. If you are stuck, click the support chat icon in the bottom right corner and provide your "Original Email" and "New Email" for assistance.

  • Why is this only happening with Hotmail/Outlook? Microsoft’s email servers (Hotmail/Outlook) have strict filtering policies that often misidentify automated system emails as spam, sometimes blocking them entirely before they reach your inbox. Using Gmail is the best way to avoid this.
