While podcasting continues to grow, YouTube offers an unparalleled audience base. Many podcasters now create video clips or full-length video episodes to leverage YouTube's search and recommendation power.

YouTube has officially integrated "YouTube Podcasts" into its platform, ensuring your show is discoverable across both YouTube and YouTube Music.

Getting Started in YouTube Studio

  1. Log in to YouTube and access your YouTube Studio (Content page).

Note: A YouTube Premium subscription is not required to create or manage a podcast.

  2. Click "Create" in the top right corner and select "New podcast."

  3. Enter the required show information to set up your program.

  4. Understanding the RSS Structure: Currently, YouTube Podcasts function similarly to Playlists. The platform does not generate a unique RSS feed for these shows. If you already have an existing playlist, you can easily convert it into a podcast.

  5. Once the show is created, you can begin uploading your episodes.

⚠️ Key Requirements

  • Video Format Only: YouTube Podcasts only support video files. You must convert your audio episodes into a video format (e.g., .mp4) before uploading.

  • Repurposing: Even a static image with an audio track must be rendered as a video file to be compatible with the platform.
