What are Comment Controls?

Spam bots can flood your comment section with unwanted messages. Instead of fighting them one by one, you can now disable comments entirely or hide the Comments tab from your show's navigation — giving you full control over your comment section.

How to Access

  1. Go to Audience Feedback from the side menu in Firstory Studio

  2. Open the Comments tab

You will see two toggles at the top of the page:

Toggle 1: Enable Comments

Controls whether listeners can leave comments on your show.

When turned off:

  • The comment form is replaced by a message: "The creator has temporarily disabled comments"

  • This applies to your show homepage, open.firstory.me, and all episode pages

  • Existing comments remain visible — nothing is deleted

  • You can turn it back on anytime to restore the comment form

Toggle 2: Show Comments Tab

Controls whether the "Comments" tab appears in the navigation bar of your show homepage and open.firstory.me.

When turned off:

  • The "Comments" tab is hidden from the navigation bar

  • This only affects the navigation — comments on individual episode pages are not affected

How the Two Toggles Work Together

The two toggles are independent. Here are the common combinations:

  • Both on — Normal behavior, comments fully enabled

  • Enable Comments off + Show Comments Tab on — Visitors can see the Comments tab and read old comments, but cannot post new ones

  • Enable Comments on + Show Comments Tab off — Comments tab is hidden from navigation, but visitors can still comment on individual episode pages

  • Both off — Comments tab hidden, and no one can post new comments anywhere
