The firstory.io domain that hosted your podcast website has stopped working. All podcast websites now use a new domain, firstory.cc. Old links do not redirect to the new address. Please update the links that you shared.
What happened
The domain registrar stopped the firstory.io domain. We cannot set redirect rules on a domain that the registrar stopped. Thus old links do not go to the new address. Listeners who click an old link see a browser error page.
We moved all podcast websites to the new domain firstory.cc. All of your content, settings and data stay the same.
Your new address
Only the domain changes. Your name and the path after it stay the same.
Old address (dead):
https://your-name.firstory.ioNew address:
https://your-name.firstory.cc
To see your current address, go to Promotion > Personal Website in Firstory Studio.
What is not affected
Podcast distribution and new episodes. Your RSS feed uses
feed.firstory.me, not the old domain. Apple Podcasts, Spotify, KKBOX and other apps continue to work.Members and subscriptions. Your member list, subscription tiers, payments and member access stay the same. Members do not subscribe again.
Firstory Studio and the open.firstory.me web player. These addresses did not change.
Podcast websites that use a custom domain. These are not affected.
Links that you must update
All links that end with .firstory.io are dead. Change the domain to firstory.cc and keep the rest of the link:
Podcast website:
your-name.firstory.ccMembership page:
your-name.firstory.cc/joinLink to one tier:
your-name.firstory.cc/join/tier/tier-idEpisode pages, article pages and playlist pages: the path stays the same. Change only the domain.
Check these places first:
Links in your episode show notes, including episodes that you published before
Your Instagram bio, Facebook page, YouTube descriptions, X, Threads and LINE official account
Your newsletters and published articles
Link-in-bio services such as Linktree
Business cards, posters, slides and other printed or image material
Firstory Studio shows the new domain everywhere. Copy the link from Studio.
Tell your members
Most paid members open your podcast website from a link that you shared before. Tell them the new address. You can copy this text:
Our podcast website has a new address.
Old address (dead): https://your-name.firstory.io
New address: https://your-name.firstory.cc
Your membership, subscription tier and payment method stay the same. You do not subscribe again.
If the new address asks you to log in, use your usual account.
Questions
Must members log in again?
The new address is a different domain. Thus members can be asked to log in one time. Their account, subscription and member access stay the same. They do not subscribe again.
Will the old address come back?
No. Use firstory.cc and update all of your links.
Do old links in my Facebook or Threads posts change automatically?
No. You must edit or publish those posts again.
Does this affect search results?
Search engines need time to index the new domain. Update the links in your social profiles and show notes to make this faster.
Can I also change the name of my podcast website?
Yes. Change it in Promotion > Personal Website. Note: you cannot use the old name again, and links that use the old name stop working.
