If you want to switch to a different plan on an active subscription, this guide explains how. Upgrades take effect immediately; downgrades are scheduled and take effect at the end of your current billing period — please read the second section for the difference.
When Can You Change Plans?
Switch an active Monthly plan to another Monthly plan within the same show
Switch an active Monthly plan to a Yearly plan within the same show
Switch an active Yearly plan to another Yearly plan within the same show
Switch an active Free plan to a Paid plan within the same show
Switch from any Trial plan to another Paid plan within the same show (⚠️ your trial ends immediately and any remaining trial days are not carried over)
Upgrades vs. Downgrades
The system decides whether your change is an upgrade or a downgrade based on the price difference — you do not need to choose.
Upgrade (the new plan costs more)
The difference is charged immediately and the new plan takes effect right away
Your billing date does not change; the new amount applies from the next cycle
Downgrade (the new plan costs the same or less)
Your plan does not change yet, and nothing is charged or refunded
Your current member benefits remain in full until the end of the current billing period
On your next billing date, the system switches you to the new plan and charges the new amount from that day on
Your billing date does not change, and your membership period is not extended
After you submit, your subscription detail page shows that the plan will change to the new plan on the scheduled date
How to Change Your Plan
Log in to Manage Subscriptions and select the subscription you want to change.
Click the “⋯” at the top right of the plan and choose “Update Subscription Plan.” (⚠️ If you are currently on a Free plan, you will be redirected to the subscription page and the steps differ slightly.)
Select the plan you want to switch to and click “Next.”
The confirmation screen shows the following details — please review them before submitting:
Amount charged today (shown for upgrades): the amount charged as soon as you confirm
Effective date (shown for downgrades): the date the new plan starts, which is also your next billing date
Next billing date
Next billing amount: the amount you will be charged in the next cycle
Payment method: the card used for this change and for future charges (see also: Add, change or remove a credit card)
A discount warning (shown when you have a discount): it states whether this change ends your discount for good
While a Downgrade Is Scheduled
You can cancel the scheduled change at any time before it takes effect:
Go to Manage Subscriptions and open the subscription.
Find the section showing the scheduled plan change and its date.
Click “Cancel scheduled downgrade” and confirm.
You stay on your current plan and are not locked out — you can schedule a downgrade again at any time.
Please also note:
While a change is scheduled you cannot change plans again (including upgrades). To pick a different plan, cancel the schedule first.
If you cancel your subscription while a change is scheduled, the scheduled change is cancelled too. Resuming the subscription later does not restore it — you would need to request it again.
If the creator closes or deletes the plan you were switching to, the schedule is cancelled automatically. You stay on your current plan, are not charged extra, and can choose another plan.
If that plan is taken down on the effective date itself, the system will not charge you for it. Your subscription is cancelled instead and you will receive a cancellation notification email.
If you have a discount, cancel the schedule before its effective date and you keep the discount. See Use a discount code to subscribe to a show.
Important Notes
Plan changes are only available within the same show. Cross-show changes are not supported.
Cancelled subscriptions cannot change plans.
Yearly plans cannot be switched to Monthly plans.
Downgrades are not refunded, and the price difference is not converted into extra membership days.
If you have a discount from a discount code, changing plan can end that discount for good, and it does not come back. Read the warning on the page before you confirm. For the rules, see Use a discount code to subscribe to a show.
A free-forever subscription from a "100% + every cycle" code cannot change plan. It can only be cancelled.
